We
Started with a Wagon.
During the 1920's, two elementary school aged brothers,
because of economic necessity, started collecting scrap
metals and waste paper throughout the city of Marion,
Ohio. Using a small hand-pulled wagon, Carl and Donald
Sims sold the materials to a local scrap processor.
From that humble beginning, Sims Bros. Inc. has grown
from wagon to a Model T, to a scrap and recycling operation
with well over 500 pieces of equipment. Hard work, integrity
and dedication to customer service have motivated this
family owned business for almost eight decades.
Sims is a diversified corporation headquartered in
Marion. The company has progressed from a simple scrap
peddling operation to a sophisticated, environmentally
aware processing/recycling and waster management business,
employing over one hundred and forty (140) Teammates
at four locations.
This privately owned business is now owned and managed
by Gary Sims, President and CEO and Scott Fischer, Chief
Operating Officer. Other key executives instrumental
in keeping the company's day to day operations running
smoothly are Garrett Tracey, Vice President, Ferrous
Operations, Jeff Clark, Vice President, Non-Ferrous
Operations, Stan Casey, CFO; Don Harper Vice President,
Human Resources, Jim McFarland, Outside Operations Manager,
and David O'Neil Transportation Manager.
The ability to provide customers with an efficient,
full service operation is the main goal at Sims. The
company has developed the capabilities to handle all
the recycling needs of a wide variety of businesses,
from large companies to individuals. The fleet of semi
tractors and trailers roll off and lugger boxes provide
many options in effectively servicing the needs of customers.
